Have you completed a fall maintenance Checklist? If not, then it’s time to start one. Here are some of the tasks to complete in order to get your home and yard cold weather ready:

  • Empty dirt from flowerpots and garden containers.

  • Clean and apply sealer to your decks.

  • Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

  • Clean the leaves out of your gutters.

  • Inspect your roof

  • Clean chimney

  • Check for drafts around windows and doors

  • Draw gas from lawn equipment

  • Check dryer vents for tears. Vacuum/brush out lint in dryer hose and around lint screen.

  • Pull refrigerator away from wall and vacuum the condenser coils and remove any build up or debris.

  • Aerate the lawn.

  • Drain and store water hoses.

  • Install insulation covers on spigots

Taking preventative measures like the ones above can save you a hassle during the colder winter months.
