Local Earth Day Celebrations
Earth Day is just a few days away and many of the local communities are hosting events to celebrate earth day and to help everyone in the local community get involved in helping to preserve our environment. Here are some of the local Earth Day events in our community.
Cherokee County Recycling Event
When: Friday, April 21st from 9:30 AM- 2:00 PM
Where: Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce
3605 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114
Upper Parking lot
This event is free and open to the public!
What: Items that are accepted include;
Computer Monitors, Televisions, Printers, Computer Mice, Cell Phones, Fax Machines, Copiers, Typewriters, Toner Cartridges

Forsyth County: Keep Forsyth County Beautiful Events
Event 1
Where: Adopt-A-Stream Workshop at Hampton Park Library
When: Saturday, April 22 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Followed by an optional walk in the woods
Event 2
Where: The Great FOCO cleanup at Cumming Fairgrounds
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM

Cobb County Community Recycling Event
It’s time to clean up your closets and garages.
When: Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 9am to 1pm,
Where: Jim Miller Park 2245 Callaway Rd SW Ste A, Marietta, GA 30008
What: Items accepted includes;
Document Shredding, Textiles (shoes, cloths, bedding, stuffed animals, coats, etc) NO CARPET or RUGS, Electronics, metals, appliances, lawn equipment (gas must be drained first), Poly styrene packaging (Styrofoam; not Peanuts)

Fulton County: Earth Day in Mountain Park When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 7:30 AM - 4 PM “Bringing back the Festivals on the Green”
Early Morning Bird Walk: Register by noon on Friday, April 21! Meet at the Community Building at 7:30 AM with binoculars and sturdy shoes. Sign up by emailing us at earthday@mountainpark-ga.gov.
Litter Clean Up: Pick up bags and gloves at the Civic Building as early as 8:00 AM (prizes for most litter collected!)
BYO picnic: On the green at 12 PM when festival booths will open and the live music begins! Thanks to Mountain Park’s own DJ Dale Hicks for providing professional sound system.

Gwinnett County Earth Day Recycling Event
When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 9 AM – 12 PM
Where: Coolray Field; 2500 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30043
What: This is a paper shredding recycling event. This event is free to the public, but there is a limit of 5 boxes per vehicle.
