Mother's Day Gifts!
With Mother’s Day only a few days away, you may find yourself scrambling for that last minute gift. At this point it may be too late to order a gift box you saw online weeks ago, or to spend a day out shopping for the perfect purse. Make a gift box for your mom with small meaningful and useful things! With so many online stores offering one or two-day shipping, there’s still plenty of time left to think of an amazing and thoughtful gift that you can order and ship to her address. Think about all the things she like, things that she may need or objects that you know she would have good use for. If you still can’t think of something, just ask her! Don’t be ashamed. You may be surprised with a simple answer that you can easily arrange and maybe even add more to it.
What interests does your mom have?? Decorating? Scrapbooking? Gardening? Home Goods?? Etc. There is a magazine for everything! Make it fun for the kids! If you have young children I would suggest helping them to make DIY gifts for mom! There are tons of gift ideas out there for kids to make for their mothers. Here are just a few simple examples.
- Have your kids decorate a coffee mug, picture frame, tile coaster, etc with paint, sharpies, etc. Then use a sealant top coat to keep the art work on there forever.
- Take a picture of your kids holding a sign that says best mom ever and frame it. Take a picture of the kids and put it in a Mother’s day picture frame.
- Have the kid make coupons for mom. Some can be for them to do chores around the house and others can be for one on one date with mom. For example, a coupon for a lunch date or a coupon for one unloaded dish washer.
Get creative and get your kids involved. There are so many different ideas for homemade cards, Mother’s Day-themed meals you can make, or even mother’s day skits you and the kids can act out to tell a story about their mom!
